Blood has a special position in women`s physiology, no matter the menstruation, the pregnancy or the breast feeding. It is said "Women`s life particularly depends on blood." From 7 to 49, every 7 years, the Kidney-Qi changes in women, thus blood changes with it, and women`s physiology and pathology with age are analyzed and a series of herbs is discussed in detail to meet the change. It helps practitioners to select appropriate herbs in their formula according to the age of women to increase the therapeutic effect.
She studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and western medicine in Beijing Universities of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1977 to 1982. After graduation, she worked there as a doctor and a teacher in the Chinese Herbal Formula Department. Besides practicing and teaching, she completed her Master’s degree study in Chinese herbal medicine and formulas. In 1990, she moves to the Netherlands and she works as a practitioner and teacher in the same field for more than 20 years. She gives lectures and hold seminars in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. She is the author of Chinese Herbal Medicine – Comparisons and Characteristics (Churchill Livingstone/Elsevier 2002, 2010), Chinese Herbal Formulas – Treatment principles and Composition Strategies (Churchill Livingstone/Elsevier 2010) and the co-author of The Treatment of Pain with Chinese Herbs and Acupuncture (Churchill Livingstone/Elsevier 2002).
